The East Cheshire Trust Podiatry Service provides a comprehensive range of foot health services for the local community.
The service runs from 21 clinic locations across Central and Eastern Cheshire, providing assessment and treatment and general foot care for eligible patients. Specialist clinics in wound-care, nail surgery, biomechanics and rheumatology are held at many of the sites. We also deliver a service at Macclesfield District General Hospital and Leighton Hospital, and domiciliary visits to patients who are unable to attend clinic.
The service consists of a Team Manager, Advanced Clinical Specialists and a Professional Development Lead.
All Podiatry team members are encouraged to belong to one of the specialist teams, which are led by the clinical leads, who provide training, mentorship and have an active role in developing the service.
The teams work closely with many other healthcare professionals who include GPs, practice nurses, district nurses, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists and have links with North West Clinical Effectiveness Group to help develop our services.
We have a structured band 5 mentorship package and have a program of internal training which is available to all Podiatry team members. All team members have an annual appraisal.
