Corporate Induction Welcome Programme

Thank you for choosing to join East Cheshire NHS Trust.

We are very proud of the welcome we usually give staff through our Corporate Induction Welcome Programme, however in light of the developing COVID-19 issues it is not appropriate to run this programme for a large group of people. This isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly and we hope you understand the rationale for this. Before you start you will receive your log in details to our Employee Staff Record System, ESR, and links to a Virtual Corporate Induction package and a welcome video.  This will hopefully give you the welcome to the Trust that we endeavour to provide to all staff.

This is an unprecedented period for the NHS and ECT  that will bind us together and test us in ways that we have not experienced before and are unlikely to experience again. We are humbled every day by the compassion, skill and dedication of the ECT family and believe in our collective ability to come through this together.

Local Induction

All new starters will receive a local induction on starting in your new role so you understand the context in which you are working and your role. A local induction checklist must be completed and signed off by yourself and your Manager. 


LEAD Framework

East Cheshire NHS Trust has developed a new Learning, Education and Development (LEAD) Framework, describing the support every member of staff should expect from day one until the day they move on, to be their very best and achieve their potential.

The framework has been designed with YOU at the centre, describing the following four elements to your development;

  • Your first 90 days - training, signposting and resources to enable new starters to feel safe, healthy and confident in their new role. It includes corporate & local induction, mandatory training, health & wellbeing conversations and preceptorship (where applicable).
  • Your career conversations & appraisals – discussions with your line manager about your career pathway and professional development.
  • Your technical & managerial skills - a wide range of opportunities to help you develop your skills and competencies in the job.
  • Leading yourself & others – learning that is shaped around the roles we do, with a focus on values and behaviours, helping you better understand yourself, others, the organisation and the ‘bigger picture’.
