Donna Rees
My nursing career started in the Medical Assessment Unit at Macclesfield in 2000. In 2001 I joined the team in the Emergency Department which 18 years later I am proud to still be a member of. I love to teach and support others, so in 2016 when the opportunity came to apply for the role as The Training Facilitator I grabbed it. I am lucky to have a dual role in the Emergency Department, as both the Band 7 Sister and Training Facilitator. I can share my experiences with the new staff, working alongside them helping them to gain new skills and confidence; it's a great job.
Outside of work I have various hobbies and interests from sewing to being a very bad magician.
I spend a lot of my annual leave volunteering with wild animals in game reserves in Africa. More recently I have been volunteering with a charity called Facing Africa working in Ethiopia with people needing complex facial reconstructive surgery.
