East Cheshire NHS Trust aims to engage positively with all people expressing an interest in an NHS career. We aim to provide opportunities to develop a greater understanding of how the trust works and the range of careers available. Work experience placements are voluntary and have positive outcomes for the employer and the learner. The Trust has also recently improved its level of accreditation with the Fair Train Work Experience Quality Standard from Silver to Gold Level.

The NHS is the biggest employer in Europe with over 1.3 million staff! East Cheshire NHS Trust is delighted to host a new Work Experience Week designed to offer an insight into a variety of different careers across the health and care sector. By taking advantage of this amazing opportunity you could become a part of the future workforce and help to provide the best quality care to the nation. With over 350 different careers on offer, there really is a place for everyone; no matter what your interests, skills or qualifications.
You will take part in numerous activities within the Trust and will have the opportunity to meet a variety of people working in a range of roles. You will be able to have a go at honds-on clinical activities in a safe, simulated environment and can speak to people who work in a wide variety of different areas. The whole week will be interactive and informative in order to show that a role in the NHS is much more than a ‘normal’ desk job. There will also be the opportunity to develop and practice your presentation skills.
We welcome applications from students aged 16 – 19 who have an interest in pursuing a career in health or care. The best candidates should be able to work effectively in a team and be able to listen to others and take their own opinions on board. You should be proactive in the way you consider work and you should perform all tasks to the best of your ability. You will be expected to be punctual and organised and commit to attending each session, which will run between 9am and 3pm each day (times may change slightly).
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application form. Complete this fully and return as instructed before Friday 27th September 2019 for the October 2019 course and before Friday 5th June 2020 for the July 20 course. Applicants must be able to attend all 5 days. As places are limited to 12, applicants will be chosen on the quality of their application form, which will include how you demonstrate the trust’s values. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance and a short reference. For any further information, please contact the above email address.
