Recruitment Open Events

East Cheshire NHS Trust regularly host recruitment open events, which are the perfect opportunity for the trust to showcase itself as an employer of choice and for prospective employees to find out what we can offer you in terms of support, development and employee benefits.

Nursing Recruitment events

Nursing recruitment open events are scheduled around 4 times a year and either take place at Macclesfield Hospital or at an external venue. Senior Nurses attend these events, in addition to members of the Clinical Learning and Development Team and the Recruitment Team. We also have a rolling programme to support Staff Nurse recruitment with interviews held on a monthly basis.

2020 dates:

This event is for all Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants interested in either coming to work at East Cheshire or looking to move to another role within the organisation. There will be the opportunity to be interviewed on the day and leave with the offer of an exciting new job.

Work Experience Week

Week commencing 6th July 2020

What is it?

The NHS is the biggest employer in Europe with over 1.3 million staff! East Cheshire NHS Trust is delighted to host a new Work Experience Week designed to offer an insight into a variety of different careers across the health and care sector. By taking advantage of this amazing opportunity you could become a part of the future workforce and help to provide the best quality care to the nation. With over 350 different careers on offer, there really is a place for everyone; no matter what your interests, skills or qualifications.

What’s involved?

You will take part in numerous activities within the Trust and will have the opportunity to meet a variety of people working in a range of roles. You will be able to have a go at hands-on clinical activities in a safe, simulated environment and can speak to people who work in a wide variety of different areas. The whole week will be interactive and informative in order to show that a role in the NHS is much more than a ‘normal’ desk job. There will also be the opportunity to develop and practice your presentation skills.

Who is it for?

We welcome applications from students aged 16 – 19 who have an interest in pursuing a career in health or care. The best candidates should be able to work effectively in a team and be able to listen to others and take their own opinions on board. You should be proactive in the way you consider work and you should perform all tasks to the best of your ability. You will be expected to be punctual and organised and commit to attending each session, which will run between 9am and 3pm each day (times may change slightly).

Complete this fully and return as instructed before 5pm on Friday 27th September for the October course and Friday 5th June, 2020 for the July course. Applicants must be able to attend all 5 days.
